Gather 'round the open fire for Chimneyside Chats - a monthly feature with holiday stories from our favorite artists. See what's in their stockings this year as they reminisce on Christmas memories, share their favorite recipe and more! Here's what modern funk outfit The Vapor Caves had to say:

In 2015, we drove to snowy, lovely Santa Fe, New Mexico to spend time with Andrew’s (BoomBaptist, half of The Vapor Caves) family for the holidays. Wrapped, were three gifts which would be the start of The Vapor Caves: A condenser microphone, an audio interface to record with, and a small flash drive, filled with unfinished ideas. The flash drive would serve as the spark for our first few songs: “I Miss You”, “Who Are You?”, and “I’m Good” were all included on this flash drive, and naturally Yadira picked all the newest and best production out of the batch of about 35 beats. The two latter songs were featured on our debut album, “Feel Yourself”. We always enjoy the holidays together and use that time as an opportunity to upgrade each other's tools and inspire new creation.
