Gather 'round the open fire for Chimneyside Chats - a monthly feature with holiday stories from our favorite artists. See what's in their stockings this year as they reminisce on Christmas memories, share their favorite recipe and more! Here's what Byland's Alie Renee Byland had to say:

My partner (our band manager) and I both have four siblings, and every year growing up our parents would give each kid an ornament for the tree. When we got married, we each inherited those ornaments for our own family tree and we decided to continue the tradition of giving each other an ornament for Christmas. We try to make them reflective of something meaningful that happened to us that year.

One year, Jake gave me a tent ornament because we had started backpacking a lot that year and I got him a harmonica ornament because he had just learned to play. It’s just a fun way to memorialize a year and build on those memories.

This year we got our first real, "adult" tree, and it was honestly so nice to look through the ornaments and recall years past and good memories, especially because this year has been pretty tough.

Here's Jake, myself and our dog Posie in front of our tree this year! Cheers to celebrating and remembering the little things!
