Gather 'round the open fire for Chimneyside Chats - a monthly feature with holiday stories from our favorite artists. See what's in their stockings this year as they reminisce on Christmas memories, share their favorite recipe and more! Here's what Elsewhere vocalist/guitarist Michael Aroian had to say:

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to have many memorable Christmases as I have been surrounded by both family and friends. That is of course the most important thing, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy receiving gifts from Santa or someone else! To that end, I have two favorite gifts...one as a child and one as an adult. As a child, in Christmas of 1982, I received a coveted Atari 2600 gaming console. There was so much anticipation built up in waiting for that unit that the experience found its way in one of our songs, “1981”, with the lyric “Atari dreams on Christmas Eve”, even though that song itself is really about summer.

As an adult, my favorite gift has to be the travel guitar my girlfriend got for me a few years ago. That gift has allowed me to practice my chops anywhere and I can’t wait to take it to more lands once we are on the other side of COVID.
