The best gift I ever received was a Slanket. In case you’re unfamiliar, a Slanket is “the original blanket with sleeves!”

I tend to get cold very easily, so one Christmas I asked for a Slanket, but no one thought I was serious. This went on for years; I received many wonderful gifts, but never that elusive Slanket.

Eventually, it became a running joke in my family; that every year I’d ask for a Slanket, but then never receive one.

Finally, one magical Christmas, there was a large package under the tree that felt squishy, like a pillow, but it wasn’t the right shape for a pillow. My eyes lit up, and even before I had fully unwrapped the present, I knew my Christmas dream had come true! My fabulous sister had bought me a Slanket, in classic royal blue. I was thrilled! I proceeded to sprawl out on the couch and put it on. Needless to say, that’s where I stayed for the majority of the day. I still wear my Slanket on cold nights - it really does have all of the advantages of a sweater and a blanket wrapped up in one cozy gift. People may think this is cheesy, but honestly, sometimes it’s the little things that bring us the most joy.
