Gather 'round the open fire for Chimneyside Chats - a monthly feature with holiday stories from our favorite artists. See what's in their stockings this year as they reminisce on Christmas memories, share their favorite recipe and more! Here's what singer/songwriter Mimika had to say: 

Being Canadian, I’m a huge fan of winter sports and I grew up skating, snowboarding and skiing. One of my favourite holiday activities is spending time outside with my family. Every year we go skating on the top of Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. They have a beautiful outdoor trail that’s covered with trees and snow and looks down on the ski village and out to the lake.

It’s one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen and makes me feel like I’m in my own Hallmark Christmas movie - major main character vibes. We usually spend the day up there and get beaver tails and hot chocolate at the top of the mountain as well. We always have an amazing time even just driving up because all of the trees are covered in snow and sparkling in the sunlight. It’s my favourite way to get in the holiday spirit and I definitely recommend for everyone to try it if they’re able!
